Is Atheism a faith? Do tenets exist? Or, is it strictly a lack of belief (in God) as Atheists would put it? What constitutes belief?

For any Scientific research in general which helps to back up religious theory.
Should Science be criticized for its inability to assess a spiritual reality? Or, are we to understand that it's subject to its limitations? Or, could it be as some suggest, this is merely evidence that God does not exist?
So, we have Psychology which deals with the findings of Science, and Parapsychology which considers the possibility of something more. Are the two mutually exclusive?
Is it possible for Science and Religion to reconcile their differences? If so, in what way? What will their relationship be like in the future?
Am opening this forum to give Bariyon more exposure for his ideas. He has some important things to say and I would like to see them more accessible.
