Default New Thread under Science vs. Religion

Iacchus, I have noticed many similarities between religion and science, especially physics (although I am not a physicist or a mathmetician). I for one do not think science and religion need to be in opposite camps. Quantum physics can prove the existance of a wave state where particles are not fixed in one position, but when we try to observe this, the wave state collapses back to the particle state. The relatively new "Theory of Everything" proposes that there are at least six more spatial dimensions than the three we are familiar with, but they have rolled up into a curved space too tiny to observe. Now take a look at Luke 17, 20-21, "And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he [Jesus]answered them and said, 'The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.'" Could it be that the nextlife or heaven promised in most religions is one or more of science's higher dimensions?

Are you suggesting I start a new category here? I don't necessarily have a problem with that. In fact I was just thinking about starting up a new category called Scientific Research, to include scientific studies such as the Shroud of Turin and what not. At least this recognizes the need for science and religion to come a meeting of the minds so to speak which, is kind of what my reason for starting this forum was all about. Does that sound like a good category or, could you suggest another category or, possibly one in conjunction with that? I suspect I might be opening up a category under Scientific Research shortly though. Thanks!

As for what you're saying about "sciences higher dimensions" I'm not sure what you mean? However, I think heaven will entail the exploration of truth in all of its facets. And little of this unfounded nonsense which is so prevalent in the Church nowadays.

Actually, I was just requesting a new thread under Science vs. Religion. I didn't seem to be able to post a new thread myself.

Unfortunately it's not set up that way. You have to choose which category you want to post it under before starting a new thread. This is why I was suggesting maybe we start a new category? Got any suggestions? It should be something along the lines of reconciling differences. Hmm ... Maybe that's it right there?

Okay, have just set up a category called Bridging Differences which, I think would be the best place to put it. I would have moved it myself except I don't think that's the title you want to use, so I'll leave it up to you. Thanks!
