Default About Roy Masters

Excerpt from About Roy Masters ...

Quote:
Speaking with the enchanting accent of his British boyhood, and with the crystal clarity and flashing brilliance of the diamonds he polished as a young craftsman, Roy Masters voice is a daily reminder of sanity and conscience over the airwaves.

But who is the Man behind the voice?

Roy Masters' life reads like a great mystery novel, discovering clues right from the start. Even as very young child he remembers questioning the purpose of why he was here. Amazingly enough the response was clear…"don’t worry, you will know." From that point on his way of learning was not just accepting what he was taught, but questioning and knowing for himself the truth of it.

This is one of Roy Masters' favorite passages in the Bible ...

Quote:
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. ~ Matthew 16:13-18
So what does this tell you about the nature of faith? That we musn't take it blindly, right?

I clicked on fhu.com and then on "articles". So Roy Masters is anti-gay. Excuse me, but I'm gay and I choose pride. God wants me to be gay.

Did you get a chance to read the article? And, while he may seem anti-gay, he doesn't treat you any differently than he would anyone else who had an emotional problem which, is kind of how he treats everyone really. So in that sense you might actually learn something. In fact he goes along ways to show how our attitudes are shaped by our environment, especially when it's emotionally charged. I still don't agree with his ideas on emotionalism though, in the sense that not much good can come out of it, being emotional that is.

Sure we can lie to ourselves through our feelings, in fact this is often the way things are impressed upon us, but just because we're emotional does not mean we're dishonest. In fact if you stick around long enough -- not too long actually -- this is precisely what it feels like you're getting hit over the head with! He does place a lot of emphasis on our ability to know the truth however.
