No problem. I'm sure I will eventually adapt to your ways, so hopefully misconceptions will not continue to occur.

I haven't gotten Iacchy to laugh much, except once at the "Descartes before the horse" pun.
Now that is a good one!

But I do like to poke fun in slightly insulting ways. I hope you realize it is just for fun.
Of course.

Oh, a poem! Thanks GB. I feel so honored, even though I know that you disagree with much of what I have to say around here. This is a nice touch, and very witty! Just as you suggested, it's always good to laugh.

As I mentioned on another thread, it is difficult to convey subtle nuance in the written word. Also, body language can give a listener a clue to what a speaker means. Emoticons are a poor substitute.

Thank you. I must confess, though, that I only modified it from a similar pun I heard years ago. How unoriginal!

You are very welcome, but I warn you about calling that piece of doggeral a "poem". I can write, though. The poem I wrote for Iacchy is much better.

And yes, we will probably disagree on much. But as long as we both engage in dialogue rather than just assertion, I think we'll gain much too. I look forward to it.

Since you like jokes, let me share one with you that was told to me by my preacher, back when I was a Christian. He would probably be horrified to know that it was one of the things that led me to atheism, as it comments pointedly on the tendency of humans to model their God to fit in with their beliefs.

A mother comes into her little daughter's bedroom and finds her making a crayon drawing on a piece of paper. "What's that you're drawing, Sally?" Mom asks.
"It's a picture of God," says Sally, artistically adding a few wispy strands of beard.
"That's nice, Sally," says Mom, "but nobody really knows what God looks like."
Sally determinedly continues drawing. "They will when I'm finished," she says.
